1 Suro at Tugu Pal Putih
Beginning in 1950, the group called nobility Jogjakarta Hari Dewado commemorating the first of Suro by doing the procession, walking around the palace fortress on the outside. This activity then became a tradition. Until now, every night 1 Suro, the people spontaneously walked fort palace as a ritual.
The ritual starts from Tugu Pal Putih, religious leaders prayed for the safety of the nation and society. Once that was done several traditions with holy water poured around the Tugu Pal Putih.
Then walk to the next event of the court of Sultan Palace to perform the traditional “Mubeng Fortress” or around the fort palace. Although the parade is no organized, but the people participating do with the order.
During the walk around the castle did not talk, known locally Mbisu. This is one of the spiritual practices in order to get peace in life. Participants will explore not only the nobility of Yogyakarta, but free, anyone can do. Usually the procession ends at the perimeter of the fort of four (4) morning. [rovitavare/jogjatoday]
