Saparan Bekakak: Schedule for Cultural Event in Yogyakarta
Saparan Bekakak ritual which was held on Friday (5/11) is still widely known as favourite for tourists in Yogyakarta. Hopefully , for folowing years the carnival procession will have more variations other than large numbers of participants.
According to the carnival route length which reach 4 Km, there is also possible about the involvement of outsider participants other than locals, so that appreciation of visitors and tourists to the attractions of the procession participants will be increase. This also means that participant must selectively chosen.
That based on fact, Saparan Bekakak traditional ceremony is attended by large number of visitors. But most visitors are locals or domestic visitors from the local community just spend their holidays. Participants from outside the region will certainly add attraction and appeal for visitors to see, which give non local participant an effective promo space in this carnival.
It will also echoes Bekakak to be more widespread and become tourist attractions on a national scale. This effort will attract more foreign tourists to come to the Yogyakarta area.
